I Belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

“I know who I am. I know God’s plan. I’ll follow Him faith. I believe in the Savior, Jesus Christ. I’ll follow His name. I’ll do what is right. I’ll follow His light. His truth I will proclaim.”

Primary songs hold such simple truths in them and it’s a shame that as we grow up we seem to lose that simple confident knowledge that we are His children. That there is a “plan” for us and that we should simply follow His light.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am planning to be a high school English teacher. I love painting, ceramics, singing, laughing too loudly (and not very ladylike), driving a little too fast with music blasting, and I have found a love of cooking and baking that I never thought I would have. I have been to Italy, England and France to see the great art of the masters and I love Italian food. It’s just sooo happy.

I believe in the gospel. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son and had his prayers answered just as surely as I know my own prayers have been answered. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet. I have felt that small assurance each time I have seen him at General Conference and love that He has a great sense of humor. I know that one of my greatest contribution will to be a wife and mother and as such I need to be a strong, virtuous woman. I also appreciate the ability and the encouragement to receive an education and to have a career outside of the home. I know that the Savior lives. That He loves me. That He atoned for my sins, that I might be given mercy. I know I am a child of God. And I’m a Mormon.
