June 8, Giverny

This is the day we went out to see Van Gogh’s grave and the gardens that Monet painted in. It was nice to get out of the city and we were joined with French study abroad group. Monet’s gardens are beautiful and seeing as I was miserably sick in bed the day before, it was great to get out of the hotel.

It was a weird day for me, I wanted to be there, but I also wanted everyone to be quiet. Which, in a group of 22 young students, is impossible. But it was a great day and I got a lot of great pictures. It was not the same kind of experience as like Stourhead, but it was very neat. While we were there we went to this museum about Impressist art and we went on a “journey” to understand the movement. It was kinda cheesy, but it was fun.
